Konteks31:4 You will free me 1 from the net they hid for me,
for you are my place of refuge.
Mazmur 140:5
Konteks140:5 Proud men hide a snare for me;
evil men 2 spread a net by the path;
they set traps for me. (Selah)
Mazmur 141:9
Konteks141:9 Protect me from the snare they have laid for me,
and the traps the evildoers have set. 3
[31:4] 1 tn Heb “bring me out.” The translation assumes that the imperfect verbal form expresses the psalmist’s confidence about the future. Another option is to take the form as expressing a prayer, “free me.”
[140:5] 2 tn Heb “and ropes,” but many prefer to revocalize the noun as a participle (חֹבְלִים, khovÿlim) from the verb חָבַל (khaval, “act corruptly”).
